This is a detailed written pattern on how to crochet a raffia (straw) bucket hat. It contains detailed instructions, exact measurements, crochet abbreviations, and yarn recommendations.

This is an advanced beginner project - some crochet knowledge is required, but nothing too fancy!

The pattern is written to fit a head measurement of 56-58 cm / 22-23 inches but is easily adjustable to fit other sizes. I highly recommend trying the piece on as you work.

2 balls of raffia yarn (1 ball equals 40 grams = ~90 metres)

How do I download my digital patterns?

When you place an order, you can either follow the on-screen prompts or head over to your email.

You’ll receive an email titled "Your dutiers digital patterns" that contains a button which says ‘"Access digital content". Click this button and it will take you straight to your files!

What is your returns policy?

If you have purchased a PDF pattern and downloaded it from the link provided, I am unable to refund or exchange this product.

If you have purchased a PDF and haven’t downloaded it, I can exchange it for another PDF pattern but I cannot refund it.

How do I print my pattern at home?

Open the pattern with a PDF viewer.

Please note: My files are password protected for copyright reasons so you will not be able to open them with editing software.

Before you print, make sure page scaling is turned OFF. The pattern needs to be printed at 100% or it will not be correct.

Print one test page first, you will find the correct measurement scale at the top of every page. Measure it to check that it has been printed to scale. When it measures correctly, print your required pattern pages.
